Iman Bhatti is a Pakistani-Canadian visual artist based in Toronto. Her practice examines cultural identity, gender, and representation, with a focus on how visual narratives shape the visibility and perception of Muslim and South Asian women. She holds a BFA in Drawing and Painting and an MFA in Criticism and Curatorial Practice from OCAD University.
In her recent work, Bhatti extends her painting practice into site-responsive media, using light, reflection, and surface to explore how identity is perceived in different spaces. Informed by lived experience and curatorial thinking, her work moves beyond the studio into public and shared spaces, creating temporary encounters that consider how images circulate and take meaning.
